Project Overview
A custom pool house in Murphy, Texas, uses three Renlita vertical opening systems to connect its interior gathering space with the surrounding pool, patio, and outdoor living areas. The project incorporates two full-height Hinge vertical lift doors and one Float vertical lift door, allowing multiple areas of the pool house to open directly to the exterior.
Rather than using the same opening configuration throughout the structure, the project combines Hinge and Float systems to address different opening requirements while maintaining a coordinated architectural design. The resulting configuration allows the pool house to transition between an enclosed gathering space and a more open environment connected directly to the pool and patio.
The Challenge
The pool house required multiple large operable openings between the interior gathering space and surrounding outdoor living areas without introducing conventional garage-door tracks across the finished ceiling. Preserving clear sightlines and usable interior space was important because the structure was designed for gathering and entertaining around the adjacent pool and patio.
The openings also served different purposes within the pool house, requiring more than one opening configuration. The project needed systems that could work together architecturally while providing the movement and access appropriate for each location.
The Solution
Renlita engineered two custom Hinge vertical lift doors (formerly the S-2000 Hingeway) and one Float vertical lift door (formerly the S-1000 Floataway) for the pool house in Murphy, Texas. Using two different vertical opening configurations allowed each system to address its location within the structure while maintaining a coordinated design across the three openings.
The two full-height Hinge systems use counterweight-assisted vertical operation to create large connections between the interior gathering area and adjacent outdoor spaces without conventional garage-door tracks extending across the finished ceiling. This keeps the operating systems concentrated at the openings while preserving overhead space inside the pool house.
The Float provides a complementary single-panel vertical opening for a different opening condition within the structure. Together, the Hinge and Float systems allow multiple areas of the pool house to connect directly with the surrounding pool, patio, and outdoor living environment.
